CAMIGUIN (PIA)–Providing immediate employment and income support to disadvantaged workers, protecting their rights and welfare, supporting community development, enhancing skills and employability, and fostering social cohesion and solidarity within communities, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Camiguin Provincial Office orients 1,606 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program, May 15–17, here.
The beneficiaries will render their service from May 15–26, for which they will be granted P3,900, or P390 per day, at the end of their 10-day employment. Working for 4 hours per day, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, the beneficiaries are from Mambajao (756), Mahinog (183), Guinsiliban (184), Sagay (177), and Catarman (306).
With the support of the Office of the Lone District of Camiguin through Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo, the Provincial Government of Camiguin through Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo, and all the local chief executives of the province’s five towns, the program is implemented throughout the province to aid those who are greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Making use of the services of the beneficiaries, the local government seeks their cooperation, especially in maintaining cleanliness on the entire island.
“Sige ta’g imbitar og mga turista, sige ta’g imbitar og mga investor, ang among hangyo sa Lungsod sa Mambajao, Probinsya sa Camiguin, nga maglabay lang gyud ta sa atong basura og insakto. Nga kabawo ta asa ang malata, asa ang dili malata, ug unsa’y magamit pa nato og balik,” Mambajao Mayor Yñigo Jesus Romualdo said.
(We always invite tourists, and we always invite investors, thus, our request from the Municipality of Mambajao, Province of Camiguin, is to dispose of our garbage correctly. That we know the biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable)
For her part, DOLE-10 Camiguin Chief Arlyn Bael reminded the beneficiaries of what they should comply with prior to deployment in their respective areas.
“Before mo masweldohan, duna pa ta’y mga documents nga i-process uban sa inyong pirma. Ang atong secretary sa Department of Labor and Employment, Sec. Laguesma, mao ni ang usa sa flagship programs nga iyaha gyung gipahingusgan nga magpadayon,” Bael said.
(Before you get paid, you still have some documents to process with your signature. Our secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment, Sec. Laguesma, considers TUPAD one of the government’s flagship programs and has insisted on its continuation)
The provincial government also assured the beneficiaries and other residents of the province that they will not cease seeking programs that will help boost the livelihoods of the people in Camiguin; thus, TUPAD is just one of the many programs that will be implemented in the province.
