DOH-10 turns over 7 ambulances, checks to MisOcc health units

The units were given to several local government units (LGUs) in the province as assistance for the Land Ambulance Project 2019 under the DOH-Northern Mindanao Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) through the effort of COOP-NATCCO Party-List, Rep. Sabeniano Canama and former Rep. and Oroquieta City Vice Mayor Jorge Almonte.

DOH-10 Regional Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an recognized the initiative of the men and women behind the negotiation, procurement, and delivery of the ambulances.

“Kung titingnan po ninyo ‘yung technical specification ng ambulance, we made sure that even the heights ‘yung sa loob, are measured to make sure na comfortable at tama naman na gagamitin ng ating mga health personnel including all that is inside,” he said.

(If you check on the technical specification of the ambulance, we made sure that even the heights inside the ambulance are measured to assure comfort to the user and it is just right to let our health personnel use everything in it including all the equipment inside the ambulance)

The regional director said the ambulance will be very helpful in bringing patients to health facilities, particularly those who would need immediate medical attention and response.

Suba-an also reminded the recipients of the ambulances to take care of the ambulance; to use the ambulance the way it is intended to be used. DOH-10 is looking forward to the positive community feedback regarding the use of the ambulance.

The DOH-HFEP upgrades the capabilities of government health facilities as well as it provides training to health professionals to improve the access of people to quality health care.

Suba-an said each ambulance is supplied with medical equipment necessary for emergency medical personnel to respond to medical emergencies.

For his part, Almonte thanked DOH-10 for making the HFEP a reality in the Province of Misamis Occidental.

“Ang tanan gyud anaa’y kapanahonan. Niabot na gyud atong ambulance nga dugay na nato gipaabot kay sa 17th Congress pa kini. Niining tanan, mag-expect ta nga ang angay nga paagi sa paggamit sa atong ambulance karon mao gyu’y bantayan sa atong mga awtoridad ingon man sa atong lumilihok sa atong gobyerno,” Almonte said.

(Everything has its timing. The ambulance that we have longed for since the 17th Congress is finally here. With this, we expect that our officials will monitor the usage of the vehicles)

The recipients of the vehicles include Clarin RHU, Bonifacio RHU, Doña Maria D. Tan Memorial Hospital, Tudela Municipal Hospital, Aloran RHU, Oroquieta City CHO, and Osukan BHS Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.

DOH-10 led by Regional Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an also distributed a check worth P5,250,000 to Ozamiz City, P25,000,000 to Tangub City and P1,000,000 to the Municipality of Sinacaban for the implementation of programs and projects under the infrastructure component of HFEP.
