District 3870 Governor Gigi Go’s 3rd Leg of Governor’s Visit Takes A Full Swing

The work continues for District Governor Gilda “Gigi” Go and her team. Right after the Cagayan de Oro City fiesta where Gov. Gigi served as Chairman for this year’s Miss Cagayan de Oro Pageant, they were on the road again to visit four Clubs in the province of Bukidnon and one Club in Misamis Oriental.

First stop was the Rotary Club of Northern Bukidnon where Gov Gigi and her team visited the General Douglas McArthur landmark in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Second was a visit with the Rotary Club of Malaybalay. Third and forth with the Rotary Club of Central Bukidnon and Rotary Club of Metro Valencia, and last stop for this leg, the fifth Club to be visited, the Rotary Club of Central Jasaan.

Governor Gilda “Gigi” Go has already visited nine of the 44 Clubs of Rotary District 3870, alongside with the District team members. Go’s team visited the Rotary Clubs of Kidapawan, Cotabato, Tacurong, Isulan, Midsayap, Cotabato City South, Pigcawayan, Cotabato East, and Maramag.

Rotary District 3870 has 44 Clubs spread in the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Del Norte, and Cagayan de Oro City. District Governor Gilda Go is the 47th District Governor of RI District 3870. She started her term as District Governor last July 1, 2023 and she will be serving as District Governor for one year. District Governor Go is a founding member of the Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro.

Once a year the District Governor makes an official visit to each club in the District. The purpose of the official club visit is to allow the District Governor an opportunity to know intimately the individual Clubs and be able to inspire them to stay true to the vision, values, and objectives of Rotary International, and to work harder to help achieve the district goals set at the beginning of the Rotary year.

Governor Gigi Go and her team will be visiting next the Rotary Clubs in the province of Misamis Oriental, Iligan City, and Cagayan de Oro City.

The Rotary Governor’s Visit

The Rotary Governor’s visit is a significant event in the Rotary International calendar that symbolizes the essence of service above self. It is an occasion when the highest-ranking Rotary official within a specific district pays a visit to clubs and communities to inspire, motivate, and recognize the remarkable contributions of Rotarians towards humanitarian causes. This annual event serves as a pivotal moment for Rotarians, as they come together to reflect on their achievements, set new goals, and strengthen their commitment to making a positive impact in their local and global communities.

The Rotary International organization, with its motto “Service Above Self,” is dedicated to improving lives and communities through service projects and initiatives. The role of the Rotary Governor is to oversee the clubs within their district, provide guidance, and ensure that they adhere to the principles and objectives of Rotary. The Governor’s visit is an opportunity to connect with Rotarians at the grassroots level and witness the incredible work being done by these dedicated individuals.

During the Governor’s visit, there is often a series of events and meetings planned to maximize the impact of their presence. Rotarians from various clubs in the district come together to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and collaborate on future projects. The Governor’s visit serves as a platform for knowledge sharing and networking, fostering a sense of unity among Rotary members.

One of the highlights of the Governor’s visit is the club meetings. The Governor addresses the members, offering words of encouragement and motivation. They often share inspiring stories of Rotary projects that have made a tangible difference in the lives of people, emphasizing the positive impact of collective action and the importance of Rotary’s mission. These stories serve as a reminder of why Rotarians commit their time and resources to service above self.

Recognition plays a significant role during the Governor’s visit. Rotarians who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and made significant contributions to their communities receive awards and accolades. These recognitions are not just a form of appreciation but also a way to inspire others to excel in their service endeavors. By celebrating outstanding achievements, Rotary encourages a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

The Governor’s visit also includes visits to ongoing Rotary projects. Whether it’s a clean water initiative, literacy program, or healthcare project, the Governor witnesses firsthand the impact Rotary has on the ground. This immersive experience deepens their understanding of the challenges faced by communities and the effectiveness of Rotary’s solutions.

Another vital aspect of the Governor’s visit is the opportunity for clubs to seek guidance and advice. The Governor provides insights and recommendations on how clubs can improve their operations, engage more effectively with their communities, and align their projects with Rotary’s global goals. This guidance helps clubs refine their strategies and better serve their communities.

In conclusion, the Rotary Governor’s visit is a cornerstone event that embodies the spirit of Rotary International. It brings together Rotarians from diverse backgrounds and experiences, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to service above self. Through recognition, motivation, and guidance, the Governor’s visit inspires Rotarians to continue their journey of making the world a better place, one project at a time. It serves as a reminder that together, through Rotary, we can achieve remarkable feats and create lasting change in the world. ###
