CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City: Exactly 251 former rebels were extended P 11.8 million livelihood assistance under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), the military said Friday.
Maj. Francisco P. Garello, Jr., of the army’s public affairs office here, said that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) distributed the on Agust 18, 2022.
All former rebels (FRs) received P15,000 as immediate assistance, while 120 FRs received P50, 000 each as livelihood assistance and another 68 FRs were remunerated for the surrendered firearms.
Bukidnon Gov. Rogelio Neil P Roque, led the distribution of the financial assistance after be administered the Oath of Allegiance of the former rebels.
In his short message, Roque said that the extended assistance, under the ECLIP, showed tnat the government did not forget to help those individuals who are in need.
“It’s been decades since the insurgency started This time, the government is determined to end the local communist armed conflict, “ Roque said.
Roque expressed gratitude to the former rebels for their decisions to return to the fold of the law to be able to part of the mainstream community again and led peaceful lives. -0-
