PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte – The Department of Education in Panabo, this city, condemned the bad and unethical behavior of one of its school principals in harassing and threatening to stab a delivery man with a scissor.
This after the alleged unethical behavior of Celestino Revamonte, Jr. went viral on the internet. Mr Revamonte is the principal of Narciso Galapin Elementary School.
Revamonte, the DepEd said in a statement, is now under investigation by its own disciplining committee as the delivery man, Bluemar Bayarcal asked the help of the institution on the reported bad and unethical behavior of Revamonte.
“The Division assures the public that it will be taking the necessary legal action to immediately address the incident,” the SDO-Panabo City said in a statement sent to the media.
The statement also said that it is reserving its won judgment to give its personnel due process.
A show cause order was already sent to Revamonte to report to the DepEd office and explain his side on the reported incident that went viral on the internet since Sunday afternoon.
In an interview with Newsline, Information Officer Lt Domingo Ranain said Mr Celestino Revamonte, Jr, the school principal of Narciso Galapin Elementary School, may face administrative and criminal charges, with a fine of at least P100,000 and imprisonment of not less than six years, if found guilty and convicted of the case.
“Sa kadto nga kaso pwede to siya ma-file-an ug “grave threats” Sa penalty nahulog na siya sa Arresto Menor,” the police officer said.
It can be recalled that on Sunday, the delivery man went to the house of the Revamonte to deliver a parcel ordered by his wife.
To the surprise of the couple the item his wife ordered is not the one she ordered from the online seller, and so the argument ensued between his wife and the delivery man.
At first, Revamonte was only listening to the arguments, and in a few minutes, he immediately pulled off a scissor and shouted vindictiveness at the delivery man. Revamonte then allegedly threaten to stab Bayarcal if the delivery man won’t refund the money in the amount of Three Hundred pesos (P300).
For his part, the rider explained the protocols on mistaken items as well as how they would be refunded by the seller.
Bayarcal explained that they need to contact the seller thru its website in order to claim for refund. But the couple would not listen to the rider’s pleading that he was only the delivery man of the parcel and he has no power to refund, aside from the fact that he has no money to give.
The incident later became viral as someone in the vicinity of the place recorded it and posted on social media – more particularly on Facebook.- with a report from PNA
