DA CALABARZON, along with the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, turned over farm machinery to the farmers’ associations in Tayabas City, Quezon on November 14, 2020.
The Matuena Irrigators’ Association, the Potol Farmers’ Association, the Golden Double Farmers’ Association, the Iba. Ilasan Farmers’ Association, the Sil. Katigan Farmers’ Association, and the Lalo Farmers’ Association were among the farmers’ groups in Tayabas City that were awarded several floating tillers and hand tractors.
Farm mechanization is one of the key programs of DA that aims to modernize agricultural practices in the region through the use of advanced technology to increase the production and income of farmers. # # # (DA-RFO IVA, RAFIS)
