DA-10 orients OJT coordinators, supervisors on students’ immersion work roles

MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)–To have a springboard for students to learn theories, principles, and ideas from education to the employment environment, the Department of Agriculture-Northern Mindanao, through Regional Executive Director Carlene Collado, recently spearheaded an orientation cum consultation for the On-the-Job (OJT) program coordinators and on-site supervisors in Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The Administrative and Finance Division’s (AFD) Human Resources Management Section led in organizing the activity to ensure the seamless implementation and monitoring of OJTs’ work experience aligned with their courses. The goal is to enhance students’ technical knowledge, skills, and work attitude to promote satisfactory job performance.

Tackled during the meeting were admission requirements, program process flow, monitoring and evaluation of OJT students, as well as the OJT qualifications of the different divisions within the agriculture department. The OJT students’ proposed deliverables for their stints with the agency were also discussed.

To cap the activity, AFD chief Patrick Ian Pedarse lauded the representatives from different senior high schools, universities, and colleges for molding young minds and pinned his hopes that some of them would pursue a career in agriculture or be involved and gain ground in said industry.

Over 30 OJT program coordinators and on-site supervisors from educational institutions and DA-10 graced the orientation consultation. (DA-10/PIA-10/Bukidnon)
