CIDG arrested a former member of an Ilonggo extremist paramilitary organization (ILAGA Group) who was active in the 70s and 80s.
In the early morning of May 27, 2022, detectives of the CIDG Lanao del Norte Provincial Field Unit led by Provincial Officer, PMAJ FREDDIE C ZORILLA ,together with the SWAT 1st PMFC of Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office (LDNPPO) implemented Search Warrant No. O45 s. 2022 issued by Hon. Silvestre D. Orejana, Jr., Executive Judge of the Province of Lanao Del Norte against Alfredo Tejada y Lumantas, a former member of ILAGA Group, for violation of R.A. No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act of 2012) which resulted to the seizure and confiscation of one (1) Colt Caliber 45 Pistol, one (1) Caliber 5.56 Revolver, assorted ammunition for firearms of different caliber, magazine assembly for carbine rifle and garand rifle as well as old military uniforms and bandoliers.
Alfredo Tejada y Lumantas was arrested as he failed to present documents authorizing him to possess the firearms and ammunition found in his possession, control and custody and he is currently detained at the office of the CIDG Lanao del Norte Provincial Field Unit pending his inquest on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, Lanao del Norte.
The operation stemmed from the information given by a concerned citizen who voluntarily gave his statements against Alfredo Tejada y Lumantas during the application of the Search Warrant at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 5, Iligan City. The police operation was part of the anti-criminality campaign of the CIDG against loose firearms and criminal groups to deter lawless elements that threatens the peace and security of the public.
