CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao— Fearing for their lives and safety, a married couple who are members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) decided to abandon the armed struggle and return to the government by surrendering to the troops of the 5th Special Forces Battalion in Brgy. The person who surrendered was identified as alias Loloy, a political instructor, member of Platoon Madrid of the South Regional Command Daguma, while his wife alias Lalay, a medic in the said group, both under the Far South, also converted to the government. Both are from the Mindanao Region.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Zandro Alvez, the Battalion Commander of the 5th Special Forces Battalion, the couple surrendered this Monday night (October 3, 2022). “They also surrendered their weapons which are a 5.56mm Colt M16A1, an M14 rifle and magazines”, said Col. Alvez.
