AMBUSH SLAY
TALAKAG, Bukidnon – Police investigators are still ‘facing a blank wall’ as to the real motive of the killing of Talakag Town Municipal Councilor Susan Gayunan last Saturday.
But initially, they have pointed politics and NPA rebels as among the nearest probable cause of the killing of Councilor Gayunan.
Gayunan, 64, was shot dead by still unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants while in Purok 2, San Antonio Village on Saturday afternoon. She was hit by gunshot bullets into her head causing her untimely demise, the police reported.
During the daylight ambush on Gayunan, she was with her niece Luther Joey Bustillo and nephew Donna Mae Timtim. Both of her relatives were also hurt, police investigation disclosed. Timtim was hit with bullets while Bustillo was also hurt when he tried to grab one of the suspect’s hand guns.
Responding police investigators reported they discovered five empty cartridges at the crime scene, including one magazine loaded with live ammos. believed to be from a .45 caliber pistol.
Major Dennis Rowell Flores, Talakag town police chief, told reporters manhunt operations are still ongoing to arrest the perpetrators the nearest possible time and give Gayunan’s family justice.
Flores said: “According to some it could be related to her job, in politics, or it could be the NPA (New People’s Army) or she has a personal conflict. We have actually a lot of angles to look at.” – PNA report
