OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Misamis Occidental is all set for the elections, May 9, and the security of the ballots is already in place as the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Misamis Occidental steps up measures to safeguard peace and security.
Provincial Election Supervisor Lawyer Carlito Ravelo said they have already secured the deployment of the vote counting machines (VCMs).
The Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office readies its personnel to perform their election duties while others are deployed in their assigned area to secure the elections in the province.
Provincial Director Pcol Anthony Placido assured the readiness of police units to perform election duty as deputized agents of the Commission on Election. “Makakaasa po kayo na ang kapulisan natin ay gagawin lang po ang tama wala po kaming kikilingan na pulitiko, hindi po kami pwedeng bilhin at wala pong halaga ang aming serbisyo. Serbisyo lang po para sa publiko,” he said.

As part of its election security preparations, the PNP MisOcc opened the “Media Action Center” (MAC) to serve as the “eyes and ears” of the PNP Security Task Force NLE 2022 that will provide an updated report of all incidents related to election and security activities undertaken by the police.
