CAGAYAN DE ORO (MDN digital, May 15, 8pm) – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has finally proclaimed the winning candidates of the city during the May 13 midterm elections.
Proclaimed by the City Comelec were re-electionist Mayor Oscar Moreno, re-electionist Vice Mayor Reinier "Kikang" Uy, his father Rolando Uy who was also re-elected as representative of the First Disitrict of Cagayan de Oro, and Rufus Rodriguez, duly elected Representative of the city's First District.
Rodriguez was the only top politician from Padayon Pilipino-CDP coalition who made it to the winning circle. Team OKKA almost sweep all the seats for the top positions as well as on the city council seats. There will be 8 city council seats in the first district as well as another eight seats in the second district.
The City Comelec also proclaimed the 14 duty elected City Councilors except for the two 8th placers as their position are still very critical while the counting of the remaining precincts are still ongoing.
The proclamation on Wednesday evening was headed by City Comelec Officer Atty. Ramil Acol.
