CDO Mayor Uy donates ‘big bikes’ to beef up police drive against criminality

BY CRIS DIAZ, Executive Editor

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy donated eight big bikes costing more than P3.2 million to the local police force here to beef up the city’s drive against criminality.

The big bikes were among the items turned over to the  Cagayan de Oro City Police (COCPO) Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 when the  city government donated 10 brand new Fortuner patrol cars to the local police here.

During his short remarks, Uy said that his family, together with former Vice Mayor Rainier “Kikang” Uy, donated the big bikes expecting the local police to work hard to protect the local residents and maintain peace and order in the city.

“Everyone of us here knew that my family was a victim of crime when my son, the late Barangay Carmen Kagawad Sherwin  ” Tawi” Uy, was gunned down last year,” Uy told the crowd the police in the verge of breaking down.

He said that since then, if given a chance, his family committed to help the law enforcers in the fight against all forms of criminality in the city.

The eight big bikes would be distributed to the city’s traffic division to help in traffic enforcement.

Along with the big bikes, the Uy family also turned over to the police 30 handheld units for the local law enforcers to effectively communicate with each other. -0-
