CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez and Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez attended the ground breaking of the Bugo section of the ongoing construction of P586-Million Puerto to Claveria Bypass and Diversion Road.
This bypass road will serve as an alternate route to different areas in Claveria town in Misamis Oriental without passing through the Butuan-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Road (BCIR).
IN an interview with the media, Congressman Rufus said the total allocation for the project is P586,374,000.00. This amount was fought for and secured by Cong. Rufus during budget deliberations in Congress. Â Â
“The Puerto-Claveria bypass and diversion road aims to reduce travel time and decongest heavy traffic in BCIR. It will also jumpstart economies in surrounding areas through the development of vast agricultural lands and opportunities for tourism,” Cong Rufus explained.
This is all in line with the thrust of Cong. Rufus to support and fund infrastructure projects to ultimately have positive impacts on livelihood opportunities and poverty reduction of far-flung barangays in Cagayan de Oro City.
With this, Cong. Rufus is committed to vocalize in Congress the needs of the different barangays in the city and will continue to push for the allocation of funds to the 2nd District of CdeO for the benefit of all Kagay-anons.
The congressman also thanked RD Zenaida Tan of DPWH 10 and the other engineers and officials of DPWH 10 for sharing this commitment to development with the 2nd Congressional District Office. ###
