BUTUAN CITY – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 13 (PDEA-13) and the local police arrested two suspects during a buy-bust operation at Langihan Bus Terminal in Barangay Holy Redeemer around 5:00pm , the police reported.
Dindo Abellanosa, PDEA-13 spokesperson said Thursday that government operatives seized 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of the suspected illegal drugs known as shabu, with a total weight of 50 grams.
Abellanosa revealed that the confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated total value of P340,000.
PDEA investigators identified the suspects who are live-in partners as Dhariy Ybañez, 31, and Shiela Grace Saramosing, 30, all residents of barangay Banza, this city.
“Authorities also confiscated from the suspects the buy-bust money consisting of three genuine PHP1,000 bills, the 297 pieces of PHP1,000 bills boodle monies, and two units of cellular phones,” Abellanosa reported.
Abellanosa told reporters the operation was jointly participated by PDEA operatives and the local police of Butuan City, and the regional intelligent unit of the Police Regional office in Caraga. (PRO-Caraga)
The suspects are now languishing in jail and they will be charged for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
