Bulletin No.12 on TY “ULYSSES” Issued at 8:00 AM, November 16, 2020

DAMAGE AND LOSSES REPORT

The total damage and losses incurred due to TY  “ULYSSES” has increased to PhP 2.53 affecting 73,181 farmers & fisherfolk and 71,466 hectares of agricultural areas with volume of production loss at 109,117 metric tons. The affected commodities include rice, corn, high value crops, fisheries, livestock and poultry, irrigation facilities, machineries and equipment, and agricultural infrastructures in Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON and Bicol Region. The increase in values is attributed to updated reports from the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and Bicol Region.

ACTIONS TAKEN

Affected DA Regional Field Offices are continuously conducting Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDANA) to assess and validate damage and losses in the agriculture and fisheries sector.

AVAILABLE ASSISTANCE

The Department of Agriculture assures affected farmers and fishers of the following available assistance:
1. Rice, corn and assorted vegetable seed reserves from DA RFOs;
2. Drugs and biologics for livestock and poultry;
3. Survival and Recovery (SURE) Loan Program of Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC); and
4. Indemnification fund from Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) to pay for the losses incurred.
