In its bid to enhance the airport experience of tourists, the Bureau of Customs – Collection District XII (BOC-CDXII) commits to provide swift and efficient customs facilitation for tourists upon their arrival and departure. This will not only help boost growth of tourism but also on trade in the Davao Region.
BOC attended the first-ever traveling exposition, the Mindanao Tourism Expo (MTEx) with the theme “Sustaining the Colors of Mindanao” spearheaded by the Department of Tourism XI in partnership with Davao Visitors Destination Hub, Inc., a consortium of DOT-accredited tour operators.
Customs provides assistance to tourists in terms of import and export restrictions, currency regulations, exemptions, duty-free concessions, among others. Being informed of related customs rules and regulations will help tourists make informed decisions about their travel plans and likewise improve their travel experience.
The event was held last January 27-29, 2023 at the SMX Convention Center Davao, SM Lanang and featured exhibits, tourism updates, business meeting and travel exchange.
BOC continues to collaborate with other agencies and support endeavors which can help boost the economic development of the Davao Region in line with Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz’s 7-point priority agenda and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ 8-point economic plan to promote trade and investments and ultimately improve revenue collection performance.
