CAGAYAN DE ORO (MDN National News digital) – Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David has confirmed Friday that he met Joemel Peter Advincula, the self-confessed "Bikoy," the hooded man in the video series "Ang Totoong Narcolist."
Advincula told reporters that although he met with Advincula in February but it was only a short meeting as he referred Advincula to other people as he was not totally convince with Advincula's confession.
In his Facebook account, Bishop David posted that he only "briefly encountered" Advincula and he (Advincula) during the meeting was also accompanied by Fr. Albert Alejo, SJ, associate professor of the Loyola School of Theology in Ateneo de Manila University.
On February 9, Bishop David narrated that he met with Alejo and discuss matters in regards with Bikoy's allegation that the Duterte family and close friends were involved in the illegal drug trade.
David said: “I expected only him but he came accompanied by a man whom he did not even properly introduce to me.”
BIKOY'S DRAMA
When Advincula had a chance to meet with Bishop David in February he started his alleged scripted drama that a big time drug syndicate is reportedly "haunting" him and that he was seeking a sanctuary for his own safety.
Bishop David said people who seek sanctuary are usually accepted by the Church. However, the usual people who asked for their help are those whoese lives are in danger
“I told the priest that, so far, we have provided sanctuary only to crime-witnesses whose lives are in danger, not to people who may have been involved in crimes themselves.”
“He came and left as a total stranger to me,” says Bishop David as he also said he was not fully convinced with Advincula's story.###
