MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–In pursuit of amplifying public service for the Bangsamoro people in Lanao del Sur, the Office of Member Parliament (MP) Lawyer Rasol Mitmug Jr. and the Mindanao State University (MSU) Main Campus launched the newly finished district office of the said MP, located beside the VIP Lounge of the Dimaporo Gymnasium in the MSU Main Campus here.

The office is equipped with facilities such as a conference room, a community library, and internet connectivity.

The Office of MP Rasol Mitmug Jr. Chief of Staff Amer Hussien Mitmug underscored that this new district office is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the MP to serve, assist, and support the constituency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“This will enable us to serve you better and more efficiently, and we will make the office a true hub of productivity, creativity, and success,” he said.

This was affirmed by Mitmug, who has been thankful to the MSU system for granting their request for a bigger office.

He explained that they chose to open an office within the university’s vicinity, recognizing that this is the brain and heart of the city.

The solon has been known as an MP that persevered for the approval of proposals geared towards achieving a better Bangsamoro region.

Among the efforts he pushed previously were the passage of the 2023 budget, and the most recent was the approval of the Bangsamoro Development Plan for 2023–2028.

Additionally, his office has also extended aid for the health of the people in Lanao del Sur province as he pushed for a mobile clinic and allocated an annual budget for Amai Pakpak Medical Center and hospitals in Tamparan and Wao towns.

Mitmug revealed that this year they will be spending most of the time with the academy, which he sees as the source of reliable research and development. This, he said, is according to his aim of passing evidence-based laws.

He likewise revealed that his major plan is to maintain open governance and an open budget.

To pursue this, they will accordingly involve the CSOs and other stakeholders so that they can effectively post the budget for the Bangsamoro region, the services made available, and how to easily access them.

Now, Mitmug is positive that his workplace can carry out the aforementioned endeavors while delivering the necessary services closer to the constituents, especially since they will have full-time district office staff who shall be managing the operations in Lanao del Sur province.

He is also certain that they can easily help in explaining what the passed budget, plans, and programs of the Bangsamoro government are all about, and how they will be relevant to the lives of the citizens.

“Naisipan namin kung mayroon kaming espasyo dito, mas mapapalapit namin ang mga polisiya at programa, at naririnig natin ang ideas ng ating mga kababayan,” said Mitmug.

(We thought that if we had a space here, we could bring our policies and programs closer, and hear ideas from our fellowmen)

Aside from being the local hub of the MP, the district office shall also act as the Lanao chapter office of the Bangsamoro People’s Party. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
