NAZARETH, Cagayan de Oro City – The council of Barangay Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City placed their area of jurisdiction in a state of calamity due to a fire incident yesterday afternoon, February 15, 2024.
To prompt swift provision of vital aid or relief rationalized the declaration during a special session conducted by the evening on the day of the incident.
As of this writing, investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire including the number of families affected as well as possible casualties and fatalities.
The flare which lasted several hours resulted to damages amounting to an estimate of P4,300,000 and ashing not less than forty houses.
It was also reported during the response that a responder from the Chinese Fire Volunteer Brigade fell to the ground from a ladder while extinguishing.
Personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) ang Department of Health (DOH) immediately went to the area for the profiling of victims.
Individuals who lost their homes and evacuated in the barangay gymnasium are calling for food supplies, clothes, water with a dispenser for hot and cold options, sleeping mattresses, milk for children as well as vitamins.
