Another investment scam busted in Bukidnon

BUKIDNON (MDN Mindanao News digital) – After the controversial raids of Kapa branches in the country, another investment scam offering large return of investment was busted by the operatives of Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Group – regional office 10 (CIDG-10), a report from CIDG 10 on Friday said.

CIDG operatives busted JA Mining Ventures in Malaybalay City, Valencia City and Maramag town in Bukidnon province, thru search warrants issued by the courts.

The investment scam reportedly lure their victims by assuring them of 50-100 percent return of investment, much higher than the commissions issued by Kapa to its members.

Investigation disclosed that around 2:00pm until 5:10 pm on Thuresday, July 25, 2019, the local police coordinated with the PNP regional office 10 to pursue the raids in Bukidnon after operatives got hold of the search warrants.

Maj Nap Carpio, deputy chief of CIDG RFU 10 said the group allegedly promised their investors payouts 30 days after investing. 

“Ito po ‘yung pang-entice nila sa public kaya marami po ang nahihikayat mag-invest (This is how they entice the public that’s why many are encouraged to invest),” he told the media.

The CIDG operatives also arrested five suspects during series of raids. Those arrested were identified as Emeliana Fernandez, Ojelyn Busbos, John Lister Pacunayen, Enie Oliquino, and Merlyn Perez.

A total amount of P612,903 in cash was confiscated by the raiding team, including investment forms, computers, receipts, a bill counter, printer machine allegedly used by the group in their illegal operations in Bukidnon province. ###
