Andanar lauds Bukidnon town’s strength in fighting COVID-19

In a live interview with Secretary Andanar on Friday during his working visit, mayor Reynaldo Ang Rabanes bared that the entire Kibawe municipality is still COVID-free through the implementation of tight border security measures, strict monitoring of LSIs and ROFs, early planning, and apt utilization of calamity funds.

“We have zero case of the coronavirus disease here in Kibawe. We agreed to have a coordinated inland strategy that hinges on cooperation, collaboration, coordination, and communication. If you want a successful project, you have to do it with the people because the only thing that can stop it is community and cooperation,” the mayor said.

Andanar, who is also the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) for region 10, shared as well the rollout of the government’s “Laging Handa (#LagingHandaPH)” information, education, and communication campaign to combat the pandemic.

He, likewise, discussed the implementation of the government’s National Action Plan Against COVID-19 Phase 2 with Kibawe’s 23 barangay officials who were with the mayor and the local government workforce who eagerly welcomed the Palace official.

Andanar’s clarification on the details of the ‘National Action Plan’ came as timely information to all who seemed frozen as the world stood still in the face of COVID-19 pandemic.

“But even before I presented this National Action Plan Against COVID-19, and the present COVID-wrought grim scenario that has claimed thousands of persons hospitalized and hundreds dead nationwide, all local government units had already organized Task Forces (TFs) to mitigate its impact on the populace. To dovetail the efforts of the municipalities and cities, national leaders do what they have to do to prevent further sufferings,” he added.

The PCOO Secretary said that the present reality is we have COVID-19 and it won’t go away easily. He added saying “it will be here for a long time if we will lower our guard and ignore possible dangers that the pandemic may bring in.” However, he assured that the government, in unity with the Filipino people, is moving forward with courage, hope, and optimism to overcome the contagion.
