In compliance to the directive from the national government on the precautionary measures in fighting the CoViD19 including the observance of social distancing, the 26th Infantry “Ever Onward” Battalion temporarily enclosed the basketball ring of the camp in order to prevent any violation to social distancing.
Lt Col Romeo C Jimenea, commanding officer of 26IB said in a statement, “The military are strictly implementing this order from our President. As frontliners, we must set as an example to others for them to resemble our good deeds and strict observation to the said protocols. Prevention is always better than cure”.
“We continue to remind our troops to be extra vigilant and to stay alert for any eventuality that may arise in our area of operations. Likewise, I am encouraging our troops to always keep in touch with their families and loved ones thru cellphones, to check and clean their individual equipment and ammos, repair their bunks, read books, magazines or any readable materials from the internet to serve as temporary recreational activities while inside the camp, and also reminding them to still be physically active. Performing push ups, sit ups, pull ups or individual run inside the camp are of great help”, Lt Col Jimenea added.
