Additional 3 PUIs recorded in NorMin

ILIGAN CITY —– The Department of Health confirmed on Monday morning of three new cases in Northern Mindanao.

Health Regional Director Adriano Subaan, in a press briefing that the new COVID-19 cases are in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.

The first case is a 67-year old female patient in lligan City who was admitted last March 19 in a hospital in Iligan due to Pneumonia with chief complaints of persistent cough and fever, six days prior to admission. She also experienced difficulty of breathing and body malaise.

The patient has
pre-existing conditions of DM type 2, hypertension stage 2 and polycythemia vera.

She has a history of travel from Makati City, Manila.

Second case is 45-year old male from Jimenez, Misamis Occidental who was
admitted last March 24 with chief complaints of fever, cough, sore throat and
headache, eight days prior to admission.

The patient, who was admitted in a hospital in Ozamiz City, has pre-existing condition of
Hypertension.

He is a seaman who came from Thailand, stayed in Manila for several weeks before going home via Ozamiz PAL flight in the morning of March 14.

The third case is a 67 years old, male from Tubod, Lanao Del Norte who was admitted in a hospital in the province
last March 26 with chief complaints of fever, cough, sore throat, colds and
fatigue for seven days prior to admission.

The patient has pre-existing condition of hypertension,
Pneumonia and has a history of Lung Cancer.

His travel history is still for validation but initial information states he has no known exposure to a confirmed case.

With the additional cases, Northern Mindanao has recorded 283 patients under investigation which 36 are currently admitted in a hospital, 40 were tested negative and were discharged. The rest are in a home quarantine.
