VILLANUEVA, Misamis Oriental – Over three hundred (300) informal workers in this province received cash assistance from Congresswoman Juliette Uy of the second district.
The livelihood support was coming from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Livelihood Assistance Grant – Congressional Intervention in the towns of Libertad up to Gitagum, this province.
Beneficiaries who belong to the informal workers include fishermen, public market vendors, farmers, public utility tri-sikad and ‘habal-habal’ drivers. They all received cash assistance, ranging from P5000 up to P10,000, depending on their present small business initiatives that they are into to support their meager income and survive in this trying time of the pandemic.
The said program was supported by all the mayors of Team Unity under the active leadership of Congresswoman Uy and her husband, former vice governor of Misamis Oriental.
“Among dako nga pag pasalamat ngadto ni Mayor Junie Uy sa Libertad, Mayor Loloy Mugot, Mga SB Members, mga Kapitanes, ug sa mga MSWDO and working Staff sa matag Lungsod ug ilabi na sa DSWD Region 10 SLP Team,” Rep Juliet Uy said, addind that said livelihood assistance was really a big help to the informal workers.
The livelihood assistance payout was also attended by Vice Governor Joey Pelaez, Provincial Board members Jessa Mugot, Atty Angel Lim who also personally distributed free soap that makes the recipients happy and very thankful for.
