ILIGAN CITY —– The operation of Adventist Medical Center in Iligan City has continued its operation despite the reported death of a patient under investigation on Sunday evening.
A huge tarpulin, hanging in front of the hospital fence says the facility is open “24 hours and is fully implementing measures for the safety of our patients and workers.”
A hospital source said the patient, who is from Lanao del Sur, was admitted 3pm on Sunday with breating difficulty.
“The patient, who manifests flu-like symptoms, died around 9pm without being tested for COVID. A swab sample was taken for testing. The cadaver is being sealed with the DOH bag,” said the source who did not want to be named for he is not the right person to release info to the media.
The cadaver will be released for burial following the Islam traditional in compliance with the protocol of the Department of Health.
The Inter-Agency Task Force COVID in Iligan has yet to issue statement about the patient.
