70 Sitio Curnao IPs receive aid, services in RAGCOM-10’s outreach program

LAGONGLONG, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–In support of the Marcos Jr. administration’s whole-of-nation approach to attaining inclusive and sustainable peace, the Regional Association of Government Communicators (RAGCOM)-10 held a community outreach program and “Serbisyo Caravan” in Sitio Curnao, Barangay Umagos, Lagonglong, February 24.

“This is an initiative RAGCOM which is compose of information officers sa nagkalain-lain nga government agencies. Ania ta karon para atong i-apud-apod sa Sitio Curnao, nga naa diay ang gobyerno, nga naa si PhilHealth, nga naa si DSWD, TESDA, BIR, PDEA, and so forth, para mapa-ila sa ila nga kini sila mga ahensya sa gobyerno kay andam mutabang sa ilaha,” RAGCOM-10 President and PhilHealth Public Affairs Division Head Meryln Ybañez said.

(This is an initiative of RAGCOM-10, composed of information officers from various government agencies. We are here today to introduce ourselves in Sitio Curnao, to show that PhilHealth, DSWD, TESDA, BIR, PDEA, and so forth are government agencies that are ready to help and assist them)

Twenty-five government agencies and the Exemplar Eagles Club NMR10 participated in the activity. The participating stakeholders trekked the mountainous terrain of Sitio Curnao for two hours to deliver various goods, including sacks of rice, slippers, seedlings, groceries, medicines, and other items, in addition to their various services, to 70 beneficiaries of the far-flung Indigenous People (IP) village.

Being one of the first significant activities from the RAGCOM-10 since the COVID-19 pandemic, Ybañez disclosed that the outreach program is only the first of this year, as they plan to hold other information activities across provinces in Northern Mindanao.

According to PJ Tadla, 40, a resident of Sitio Curnao, the RAGCOM-10 Community Outreach and Information Caravan was the first of its kind in the village.

“Dako kaayo ako pasalamat gobyerno sa ilang gipanghatag sa Sitio Curnao, miskan layo kaayo mi, gipaningkamotan gyud mi nila nga anhion para lang makahatag sa ila serbisyo,” Tadla said.
