Camp Siongco, Maguindanao – “The secret of getting ahead is getting started” this was the message of Major General Roberto Capulong, 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division Commander during the ceremony marking the activation of Task Group “Bangis” to beef up security presence in its joint area of operation.
Maj. Gen. Capulong said the activation of the unit is in support of the goal to dismantle the remaining Communist Terrorist Group Guerilla Front Musa, and its vertical forces in the area and will be deployed in the jurisdiction of 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade.
Capulong installed Lt. Col. Michael Angelo Candole being the Battalion Commander. Despite it is being constituted as ad hoc, the newly created task group will fulfill the commitment of 6ID to the Commander-in-Chief, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the campaign against communist terrorist group.
Lt. Col. Candole expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to lead the provissionary battalion and pledged to live up to the expectations that come with his position.
“This will significantly contribute to our continuous quest for long lasting peace, and sustainable development in South and Central Mindanao”, says 6ID Commander.
For the new 6ID soldiers, it will serve as stepping stones in their military careers. “The beginning may be the hardest part, but with your enthusiasm, dedication and commitment, I am confident that each one of you will bring glory and victory to Kampilan Division by doing your job well to gain exponential results”, he added.
