CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – The 6th (Infantry) Kampilan Division, Philippine Army, stationed at the 6ID Headquarters in Camp Siongco, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte, conducted a highly successful 2nd Quarter 2023 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today at 9:00 a.m.
The drill involved all personnel of the Command, who diligently performed the duck, cover and hold procedure in response to the siren signals within their respective offices. After the alarm, all personnel went to designated evacuation site while the Incident/Emergency Response Team checked if there were people left in the premises of each building.
In the aftermath of the drill, the Military Patrol, Ambulance, and Fire Truck units mobilized swiftly to survey the surrounding areas. Their primary objective was to ensure the safety and security of the Command’s personnel and the local community. By assessing potential damages and hazards, these units played a critical role in facilitating a rapid response in case of an actual earthquake or other emergencies.
The Simultaneous Earthquake Drill aimed to enhance the 6ID’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities. In doing this, the personnel demonstrated their commitment in ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within the division. The activity was carried out under the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, further highlighting the significance of this simulation in coordination with other government agencies.
Major General Alex S. Rillera, Commander of 6ID and JTFC, expressed his utmost appreciation for the active participation and exemplary performance of the troops during the drill. He emphasized the importance of continuous training and preparedness in effectively responding to potential disasters, safeguarding the well-being of all personnel, as well as the surrounding community. “The drill showcased the 6ID’s commitment to maintaining a high level of readiness and ensuring the safety and security of all personnel under this command.”
