CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte—The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division has once again showcased their exceptional skills and dedication as they clinched a remarkable victory in the Filipino Martial Arts Fest 2023 (World Invitational) held in Cebu City from August 3 to 8, 2023. The team’s exceptional performance led them to secure an impressive total of 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal across various categories.
The Division’s participation in the prestigious tournament highlighted their proficiency in Filipino martial arts, displaying their mastery and prowess on a global stage. The results of their hard work and rigorous training were evident as they dominated various events, solidifying their reputation as true champions.
These remarkable performers from the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division team deserve special recognition. Notable among them are Private Sheena Del Monte, who excelled in various categories, Private Jonah Mar Dorero and Private Jesfer Huquire, who also showcased outstanding performances.
Private Del Monte achieved a Gold Medalist title in Live Stick Sparring (Single), Live Stick Sparring (Double), Kulata Challenge, and secured Silver Medals in both Team Sparring and Team Demo. Private Dorero also displayed exceptional skill, securing the Gold Medalist title in Live Stick Sparring (Single) and the Silver Medalist title in Live Stick Sparring (Double), Anyo Sayaw (Single), and Team Sparring. Additionally, Private Jonah Mar Dorero earned a Bronze Medalist title in Anyo Sayaw (Double). Private Huquire earned a Gold Medalist title in Live Stick Sparring (Double), further adding to the team’s success. This success is also attributed to the dedicated training provided by their coaches, TSg Mike Bañares and SSg Gerome Pacatang.
These three individuals, among others, contributed significantly to the team’s achievements and demonstrated their dedication and prowess in various disciplines.
