CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–In gratitude to its stakeholders and the achievements of the Dimalulupig troopers, the 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion 58IB held its Stakeholder’s and Warriors Night at the 58IB Headquarters, Sitio Migbanday, Poblacion, Claveria, September 8.
The momentous occasion celebrated the successes of the Dimalulupig troopers in support of the shared mission of attaining inclusive and sustainable peace and development in the province, with the highlight of the activity being the unveiling of the Harbingers’ heart metal sculpture.
The Harbinger’s heart is a heart-shaped work of art that is made up of the demilitarized firearms from captured and surrendered firearms of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs), which embodies the commitment of the 58IB, stakeholders, and former rebels of the Anlag-Ani Tapukanan Cooperative to creating a more peaceful and prosperous Misamis Oriental.
The heart shape symbolizes the desire of soldiers to end the insurgency by peaceful means and ultimately integrate the former rebels into mainstream society with a brighter future.
Giving plaques to stakeholders, the 58IB recognizes their unwavering support to the peace campaign and being an invaluable partner for peace and development, and the commitment of the stakeholders which enabled the unit to perform as it transforms conflict-averse areas into peaceful communities for development.
“We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the constant support extended by our stakeholders that has significantly helped us in our mission. These, we dedicate to your outstanding contributions that shaped our success stories, which brought pride to the unit.” 58IB Commanding Officer Ricky Canatoy said. (58IB/PIA Misamis Oriental)
