58IB, PNP-MisOr send-off cops to GIDAS brgys under “Tinabangay” campaign

CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–The 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion (58IB) in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Misamis Oriental, held a send-off ceremony to seven Mobile Community Support and Sustainment Teams (MCCST) and eleven Revitalized-Police Sa Barangays (RPSB), which will be deployed to target barangays in Gingoog City, and barangays in the municipalities of Lagonglong, Balingasas, Salay, and Magsaysay, under its “Tinabangay” campaign, October 4.

As part of its support to the mandate of the National Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), the collaboration of the “Tinabangay” campaign aims to sustain the gains of the government in putting an end to insurgency in the province and hasten its efforts of ending local conflict through capability development, community building, and securing peace and order.

Securing Communities. By identifying and addressing peace and other public safety concerns such as prevalent crimes, drug problems, health issues, hazards, and disaster-prone areas in the far-flung barangays, the joint campaign paves the way for other government programs to come to communities. By identifying and addressing peace and other public safety concerns such as prevalent crimes, drug problems, health issues, hazards, and disaster-prone areas in the far-flung barangays, the joint campaign paves the way for other government programs such as the Support to Barangay Development Projects (SBDP) and livelihood and employment programs under the Poverty Reduction Livelihood Employment Cluster (PRLEC) to communities in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAS).

Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia said that his administration is in full support of the campaign to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and is grateful for the sacrifice of the policemen and women in securing a peaceful province. (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
