369 new soldiers join 4ID, hurdle CSC course

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City: The military welcomed 369 new soldiers to its fold after successfully completing the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) in a Joint Closing Ceremony in Bukidnon, the army’s 4ID announced Monday.

The new graduates belonged to CSC Class 690, 691, and 706 composed of 51 females and 318 males –172 of them possessed special skills while 64 were CAFGU members, 48 Indigenous People members and 85 were for the Engineering unit.

The new soldiers satisfactorily completed the five-month mandatory Basic Military Training that started in January 2022 conducted by the 4th Division Training School.

In a statement, 4ID Commander Maj. Gen. Wilbur C. Mamawag congratulated the graduates for hurdling the training requirements.

He said that the culmination of training is just the start of the soldier’s journey in their military career.

“The new graduates will be an additional force of 4ID in serving the people and securing communities within its AOR in Northern Mindanao and Caraga Region,” Mamawag said.

Diring the graduation rites on May 23, at Camp Osito D Bahian in Impalambong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Mamawag enjoined the new soldiers to be prepared to assume different roles to become reliable partners of the people in peace and development.

“I urge them as well as all the Diamond troopers to become an instrument of change for the betterment of the communities in the region and never fail the people we ought to serve and who have invested their trust in us,” Mamawag said. -0-
