‘BROAD DAYLIGHT’ AMBUSH
COTABATO CITY – Three persons were killed yesterday (April 13) in this city during a broad daylight ambush perpetrated by unidentified assailants, reports reaching MDNN said.
Police investigators identified the fatalities based on their IDs as Ali Abdurahim Tamal, a resident of Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao Province; Norma Dalimbang Sapi, a native of Datu Sinsuat also in Maguindanao, and a boy whose name is still to be verified, according to the police.
Initial investigation conducted by police probers said the victims were traversing Jeremiah Street, Barangay Rosary Heights 11 with their dark gray Toyota Vios vehicle. While they were maneuvering the said road, armed suspects onboard a brown Mitsubishi Sportivo vehicle flagged them and without provocation peppered them with bullets.
Colonel Rommel Javier told reporters responding policemen immediately approached the crime scene and brought the victims to the nearest hospital but doctors pronounced them dead on arrival (DOA)
The police investigators theorized that the incident was sparked by personal grudge but still getting more evidence and the motive behind the broad daylight ambush which happened around 10:00 in the morning yesterday.
Meanwhile, police operatives in the city are now conducting manhunt operations to track the whereabouts of the suspects, who may still be in the city while the crimes just happened.
The police are also tracking down the brown Mitsubishi Sportivo vehicle used by the suspects in the ambush.
