CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – Trust in the government and a dream to change their lives pushed three senior communist terrorist leaders to abandon the armed struggle.
This was announced by alias Abel, alias Jumper and alias Teks after they presented themselves to Lt. Col. John Paul Baldomar, the leader of the 37th Infantry (Conqueror) Battalion in Brgy Tibpuan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, this Friday (April 28, 2023).
In the investigation, Lt. Col. Baldomar that the three hold high positions in the Far South Mindanao Region, the terrorist group’s ever-decreasing command.
Alias Abel is a Political Instructor, while the two are both vice commanding officers of the platoon Timlas and Beijing.
They also carried their carry-on war gear which was a 7.62mm M14 Rifle; a 5.56mm M4 Carbine (KH-416) and a Cal .45 Pistol (COLT MK-IV).
Along with the celebration of the 47th anniversary of the 37IB today (April 29, 2023), the three former rebels were presented to Major General Alex Rillera, the Commander of the 6th Infantry (Army) Division and Joint Task Force Central; to Brigadier General Michael Santos, the Commander of the 603rd Brigade; and to Hon. Joaquin T. Concha, the mayor of the town of Kalamansig.
“The LGU of Kalamansig and neighboring areas are working together so that all peace and order problems can be resolved, not only in the leftist group but in all aspects”, said Mayor Concha.
In his message, Maj. Gen. Rillera is to maintain peace and tranquility because it is associated with prosperity. “We must sustain our efforts so that these brothers of ours who deviated from the path do not return to the armed struggle. We are grateful to Mayor Concha for continuing to help them especially with their financial needs so that they can start their new life and development projects to address the issues that the terrorist group uses to deceive new members.”
Through LGU Kalamansig and DSWD, food packages and financial assistance were given to the three converted victims of the wrong ideology of the communist terrorist.
