STO TOMAS, Davao del Norte – At least three diarrhea patients in Barangay Tulalian, Sto. Tomas town in this province have tested positive of the deadly and killer coronavirus disease (covid-19).
The recent victims of the virus attacks in this province were the following: A twenty-year-old male who was symptomatic; while the two other covid victims were asymptomatic.
In a statement sent to the media, all the three victims tested positive of the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests that were released yesterday. They were among the 99 patients who were subjected to RT-PCR.
“All three are in strict isolation while recovering from the water-borne disease,” said Mart Sambalud, head of the MIO.
Sambalud said the testing of 99 patients were done so that everyone will be aware that the local government is doing each part in identifying the names of those who were hit by the virus but did not report their current conditions to the local government.
Meanwhile Mayor Ernesto Evangelista has already declared a diarrhea outbreak in Barangay Tulalian following the deaths of three local residents; 2 females and 1 male.
The latest victims of diarrhea were two females, whose ages were 69 and 81, and they were all residents of Barangay Tulalian.
“The two female corpses were subjected to post-mortem swab specimens for SARS-CoV-2 testing,” Sambalud concluded. – PNA
