28,800 vials of SinoVac arrive in North Mindanao

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Another 28,800 vials of SinoVac vaccines for distribution in Northern Mindanao were flown in here Tuesday morning on a commercial flight from Manila, local health officials said.

The vaccines, secured in 18 boxes, would be rolled up for 14,400 persons in various vaccination centers in Northern Mindanao.
Norther Mindanao comprises the provinces of Camiguin, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, and Lanao del Norte.
Dr. David Mendoza, Assistant Regional Director, of the Department of Health (DOH) together with the local health officials met the vaccines on its arrival at the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental.
Health officials and a team of policemen escorted the vaccines while in transit to the DOH regional vaccine cold storage in Carmen, Cagayan De Oro City.
It took only 36-minute travel time for the vaccines to be transported safely by land from the airport to the DOH regional cold storage.
The arrival of the 28,800 SinoVac vaccines Tuesday would be for the first and second dose of those who earlier got the jabs, health officials said.
A week ago 73,000 SinoVac vials from Manila arrived here as the first dose jabs for the senior citizens rolled up in various cities and provinces in Northern Mindanao. -0-
