MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA)–Twenty-five scholars of housekeeping NC II participated in the Training Induction Program, June 1, at the Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT), Lumad, Poblacion, here.
“Kini usa ka scholarship ubos sa Training for Work Scholarship Program nga nagtumong nga matabangan ang mga benepisyaryo nga makakuha og skills training ug aron makakita og trabaho,” Vocational School Administrator of CSAT Karol Sanggomay said.
(This is a scholarship under the Training for Work Scholarship Program that aims to help beneficiaries get skills training and find employment)
During the training, the scholars will receive a training support fund worth P160 per day. The training will be conducted for 55 days, and upon completion, the scholars will get a training certificate as well as undergo a training assessment.
Thankful for the opportunity, one of the beneficiaries, Roceleen Ysa Mae Abuzo, 39, from Poblacion, Mambajao, said the training is very timely since she is already eyeing an overseas employer, which requires an NC II certificate.
“Kini siya opportunity and tabang bitaw pud nga dili makaingon nga adto sa school pero naa bitaw sila nga makatabang sa atoa para mainput ang knowledge then skills pud sa atoa nga in the future, nga gusto gyud ta mulambo sa atong kaugalingon, naa ang school or naa ang TESDA para bitaw nga muagupay para sa atoa,” she said.
(This is an opportunity and a help, even though some would say that we can’t really go to school, but they are there to help us input the knowledge and skills that we can use in the future. This, if we really want to develop ourselves. We have the school, or there is TESDA that will support us)
The beneficiaries include displaced workers due to the pandemic, fresh high school graduates, and college graduates who want to venture into working abroad. (RTP/PIA-10/Camiguin)
