MARAWI CITY – Two Communist Terrorists from the weakened Guerilla Front Sendong surrendered to elements of 10th Infantry Battalion at Brgy. Litapan, Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur on May 28.
The military identified those who surrendered to authorities as Decel Gumangay Delos Santos, aka Baby (17 years old), and Aiza Relampago Baron, aka Jean (25 years old). They were both members of Iskwad Dos Platon Uno, and GF Sendong. The surrender occurred in the presence of Mayor Josefina of Zamboanga del Sur, who accompanied the surrendering persons for a medical check-up.
Delos Santos is from Siloy, Calamba, MO and Baron is from Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur, both have gunshot wounds on their right arm incurred from the March 31, 2023 armed encounter at Brgy. Siloy, Calamba, Misamis Occidental.
Lt. Col. Jose Andre R. Monje, Battalion Commander of the 10th Infantry Battalion, expresses that the Philippine Army is completely committed to dealing with all surrenders with the utmost humanity. Decel and Aiza will be provided all of the rights and privileges available to surrenderees, safeguarding their well-being and giving the required medical care for their recuperation.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete, 1ID Commander, also expressed his most profound thanks to the efforts of the 10IB and the assistance of law enforcement in effectively dealing with the surrender of Communist Terrorists members.
He further urged the remaining communist terrorists to surrender and return to the folds of law in order to restore their dreams and continue living a normal life.
Meanwhile, Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) leader of the North Central Regional Committee (NCMRC)
identified as Allysa Joy Aldojesa surrendered to the forces of the 103rd Infantry Brigade in Marawi City, Saturday last May 27,2023, Top military official said.
Allysa was the Secretary of the Sub-Regional Committee (SRC-5) of the NCMRC. She is currently undergoing medical checkup at the Haribon Brigade in Marawi City .
The Haribon Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Yegor Rey Baroquillo said that Allysa’s surrender was a result of the joint efforts of the Brigade, the 55th Infantry Battalion, and the Philippine National Police units in Marawi City.
Maj. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, the 1st Infantry Division Commander lauded the successful feat of the Brigade in persuading CTG key leaders to submit to the folds of the law and demoralizing the remaining terrorist group members.
He further enjoined the exhausted CTG members who are still fighting a pointless ideology to lay down their arms and embrace their families. ###
