2 weapons recovered from fugitive CTG in Sultan Kudarat

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – The 57th Infantry (Masikap) Battalion this Monday afternoon (June 26, 2023) recovered two M16 rifles of the Communist Terrorist Group after the encounter that took place in Barangay Batang Bagras, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat. .

According to Lt. Col. Guillermo Mabute Jr., 57IB Commander, while continuing their security operations, the 57IB encountered 13 members of the communist terrorist group or CTG that lasted 15 minutes.

“Our army immediately conducted an investigation at the encounter site and they discovered two weapons, two magazines, personal equipment, subversive documents and blood stains,” said the 57IB Commander.

Pursuit operations against escaped communist terrorists continue, according to Brig. Gen. Michael Santos, 603 Bde Commander.

Major General Alex Rillera, Commander of JTF Central and 6ID announced that the government is ready to help to provide benefits from E-CLIP such as livelihood and financial assistance for starting their life transformation.

The campaign of the JTFC and 6ID continues to achieve complete victory or “total victory” against all types of terrorist groups in Central and South Central Mindanao.

So far 21 CTG have converted, 5 have been arrested and 10 have died from the encounter. While 25 weapons were surrendered and 25 were also recovered.
