MAWAB, Davao de Oro – At least two vloggers were arrested by police authorities for pulling out a prank content which alarmed the public and the staff of a gasoline station.

The police identified the suspects as Jonel Cordero and Arnold Rabi, both residents of Purok 4, Brgy. Nueva Visayas in Mawab, Davao de Oro province.

Investigation disclosed that Cordero bought a small amount of gasoline, and he placed it inside a bottle of an energy drink. He drank the gasoline in front of the cashier and pretended he got poisoned and dizzy and vomiting, while his accomplice vlogger secretly filmed the video.

Cordero pretended to drink the gasoline, but he secretly switched the bottle containing the gasoline to an energy drink. Cordero then vomited and feel dizzy.

The gasoline staff and customers got alarmed seeing Cordero vomiting and they called the assistance of the town’s disaster risk and management office.

The team responded to the call and immediately conducted first aid and assisted the supposed condition of Cordero. However, while the team was conducting first aid, Cordero reportedly burst into laughter and exclaimed: “It’s a prank”!!

The emergency response team were not amused by the emergency prank of the vloggers, and they sought for police assistance, who immediately responded and arrested the vloggers.

Major Delia Gesultura, Mawab police chief, confirmed it was a clear case of alarm and scandal which was set to be filed against the vloggers who have caused disturbance in public by pulling a fake medical alarm.

“Ang Mdrrmo Mawab Team kinasingkasing nga nagahangyo sa atong mga kaigsuonang vloggers partikular aning Cordero Brothers nga taga Andili nga unta likayan kining pagbuhat og mga Pranks may kalabutan sa emergency,” the MDRRMO said in its advisory posted on Facebook.

“Wala man mo gibawalan nga maglingaw-lingaw anang inyong PRANKS apan hangyo lang mi, ayaw intawon idamay kining emergency concerns kay maka-create og panic sa katawhan o publiko. Manghinaut mi nga dili na kini mausab. Magtinabangay kita nga mamahimong hapsay ug layo sa disgrasya ang atong lungsod,” MDRRMO concluded.

If found guilty of the offense, the vloggers will be imprisoned for 30 days and will pay a fine of P40,000, police authorities said.
