2 NPA rebels fall in AgNor raid

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Two wanted members of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) with warrants involving multiple criminal charges were arrested in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte (AgNor), a military report said Wednesday.

Lt. Jade Bruce Buñe, spokesperson of the army’s 29IB identified the suspects as Regie Amora Ligan alias Kylie/Kyle/Kihod, 20, of P5 Brgy Tagbongabong, RTR, Agusan del Norte and Gabriel Rebucas Sagay, alias Roxan/Onemig, 28, of Purok 5, Brgy Pianing, Butuan City.

Buñe said that Ligan, leader of the armed propaganda unit of the NPA Guerilla Front 21, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NMRC) is charged with attempted homicide with the Municipal Circuit Trial Court, in Butuan City with P 36,000 bail.

He said that Sagay, also a member of the NPA Guerilla Front 21, NMRC, is charged with attempted murder with a warrant of arrest issued by a trial court in Bayugan, Agusan del Norte

Buñe said a combined army and police operatives armed with warrant arrested the suspects on March 11, 2023 in Purok 2, Brgy Kauswagan, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del NortNort

The law enforcers also recovered one unit .45mm caliber rock island with live ammunition, one unit of .9mm caliber TAURUS loaded with live ammunition, blasting cap with detonating cord, five pieces of sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be Shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride). -0-
