1st Housing Summit of CREBA CDO chapter kicks off

THE first ever Housing Summit of the Chamber of Real Estate Builders Association (CREBA) Cagayan de Oro chapter opened yesterday at Limketkai Rotunda in Cagayan de Oro City, kicking off a three-day event showcasing the projects of member-developers to the public and promoting professional advancement within the local realty sector.

Developers who have projects in Cagayan de Oro presented miniature showcases of their respective units. They were joined by suppliers and major presenters such as MIE Oro Plast Corporation and ARCHON, a construction equipment solutions, among others.

CREBA chapter chair Engr. Chrysler Acebu said he is honored to lead the group in the first ever Housing Summit organized by the chapter, pointing out that sales of vertical and horizontal developments alike continue to increase even during the time of the pandemic.

“As your chairman, it makes me extremely proud that our chapter has organized a big undertaking such as this and no doubt we pulled it off with flying colors. The dedication and unparalleled fervor of our members and officers have truly been remarkable and inspiring,” Acebu said.

For her part, CREBA chapter president Gigi Roa thanked national government agencies such as the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for their support to the event.

PRC has committed to credit continuing professional development units to realty brokers who are attending the event. Aside from developers, CREBA is also composed of real estate brokers from the city.

“As we come together for this summit, we aim to harness the collective expertise of our members and partners to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. This summit is designed to explore the multifaceted dimensions of our industry,” Roa said.

During the three-day event, there were aloso insights presented by real estate practitioners, a panel forum on sustainable housing solutions for the future and anti-colorum issues and of course socials and raffles. The forum was guested by no less than Sen. Joseph Victor Ejercito, who authored the bill that was signed into law consolidating all government housing agencies into one department, DHSUD.

CREBA Cagayan de Oro chapter was established in 1984. Its mission is to become the umbrella organization of the different stakeholders in the real estate sector and allied industries, jointly promoting sustainable real estate development in the community. It is a proud partner of the National Association of REALTORS in the United States.
