11 farmers’  organizations in Sultan Kudarat receive  P2.9-M farm machinery

Eleven (11) agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in Sultan Kudarat recently received P2.9-million worth of farm machinery from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to boost their livelihood activities.

The farm machineries include 13 units of hand tractor with trailer worth P130,000.00 each, eight (8) units of floating tiller (Bao-bao) worth P75,250.00 each and eight (8) units of power tiller (Kuliglig) worth P76,000.00 each.

The activity is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella, to pour out support services to ARBOs nationwide.

The ARBO-recipients of farm machineries include the Libertad Peace and Development Farmers Association, Batang Bagras, Libertad Peace and Development Farmers Association, Maligaya Peace and Development, Telafas Peace and Development, Kalanawe II Farmers Association, Tambak Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, Palavilla Barangay Irrigation, Barurao II Women’s Association, Cadiz Rice Farmers Association, Nati Communal Irrigators Association, and P4MP Baras.

Ruth D. Mayo, Board of Director of Maligaya Telafas Peace and Development Farmers Association from Columbio, thanked the DAR for once again going an extra mile to help them.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the DAR for all their continued support in helping us improve our lives especially in these trying times. These farm machineries will be a huge help to our organization. Rest assured that these will be taken good care of and will be put to good use,” she said.

The farm machinery was provided under the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities Project, which aims to balance economic growth, social well-being and environmental care.

H. Roldan A. Ali, DAR Assistant Regional Director, said this initiative is part of DAR’s effort to assist the ARBOs in boosting their agricultural productivity and improving the farmers’ economic lives.

“I hope that this turned over farm machinery will serve its purpose and that it will be maintained and sustained because it will help you achieve higher farm productivity and profitability,” he said.

The said ARBOs are from the municipalities of Palimbang, Columbio, President Quirino, Lambayong, Lutayan, Kalamansig, Lebak, and Senator Ninoy Aquino, and Tacurong City.
