Buenavista, Agusan del Norte- The 23rd Infantry (MASIGASIG) Battalion under the operational control of 402nd Infantry “Stingers” Brigade, 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division, Philippine Army while conducting combat operation encountered more or less five CNT’s at Sitio Tacub, Barangay Rizal, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on Friday November 4, 2022.
The said clash happened at around 10:25 in the evening which lasted for ten (10) minutes firefight, the said CNT’s believe members of PLTN SAGAY, SRC 3, NCMRC led by @JOKOL (TN: rene Villa). There was no casualty on the government side and one (1) were killed on the enemy side. Recovered items in the encounter site were; one (1) Cal.30 Carbine, ten (10) packs ammonium Nitrate, one (1) bandolier, one (1) magazine of Carbine and three(3) rounds of live ammunitions. A pursuit operation is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Balingao, Commanding Officer of 23IB, calling the remaining CTG’s to lay down their arms and return to mainstream society and rest secured the Army will continue their mandate against the CTG’s in the province. We express our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. Ltc Balingao added.
