A 0.600km of farm-to-market road that connects Brgy. Masorot and Brgy. Miabalawag in Bubong town, Lanao del Sur was turned over by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) in the Bangsamoro region and the Department of Agrarian Reform XII - Italian Agrarian Reform Community Development Support Program Central Project Management Unit (DAR XII -IARCDSP CPMU) to the municipal government of Bubong.

The IARCDSP is a foreign-assisted project implemented through the defunct DAR-ARMM (now MAFAR-BARMM) aimed at improving the quality of life of the farmers in the countryside through the provision of integrated and complementary interventions on agri-enterprise development(AED), local capability-building support(LCBS), and community infrastructure building(CIDS).

It covers five (5) agrarian reform communities of the municipalities of Bubong, Tamparan, Piagapo, Pagayawan, and Balabagan in Lanao del Sur.

Present during the turnover were MAFAR-BARMM Deputy Minister and Lanao del Sur Officer-in-Charge Ammal D. Solaiman, PARPO II Engr. Mesug P. Unda, and National Project Coordinator Engr. Anuar P. Acop who heads the DAR IARCDSP CPMU team.

"Maraming salamat po sa LGU Bubong sa suporta na binigay para ma-implement ang project na ito. Isa po itong patunay na kaisa ninyo ang MAFAR sa pagtulong sa ating komunidad. Hindi lamang po ito isang ordinaryong kalsada bagamat ito ay kalsada na magdudulot ng kaginhawaan sa ating mga magsasaka at maglalapit sa buong komunidad ng Bubong," says Deputy Minister Solaiman.

(Thanks to LGU Bubong for providing support in implementing this project. This is proof that MAFAR is your partner in helping our community. This is not just an ordinary road but a road that will bring comfort to our farmers and will bring communities closer.)

Meanwhile, PARPO Unda expressed his gratefulness to all the stakeholders who have worked so hard for the said road and all IARCDSP being implemented as support to the peace process in Mindanao.

Engr. Acop, on the other hand, stressed the importance of complementation and convergence for a successful implementation of all projects towards poverty alleviation.

In his acceptance speech, LGU Bubong Municipal Administrator Al-Rakim T. Munder recognized the strong support of DAR IARCDSP and MAFAR. He also assured the stakeholders to allocate funds for the operation and maintenance of the said farm-to-market road for its sustainability.

More IARCDSP sub-projects are expected to be turned over in the coming months. (MAFAR Lanao del Sur)
