Iligan City imposes stricter enhanced community quarantine

ILIGAN CITY ----- The city government of Iligan has imposed a stricter guidelines of the enhanced community quarantine starting March 23, the date when the executive order of this implementation was issued.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for COVID in Iligan City has yet to clarify if the issuance of the executive order triggered from the death of a patient believed to have infected with COVID-19.

The patient died Sunday afternoon at the Adventist Medical Center (AMC) after he was brought by his family in the morning of same day. He is reportedly from Lanao del Sur.

The IATF has yet to issue further details about the patient pending approved statement from the Department of Health according to City Health Officer Dr. Cherlina Cañaveral.

The strict enhanced community quarantine in Iligan ddvised all residents of the city working in the neighboring cities, municipalities or provinces to adopt the work at home scheme or arrange an accommodation in the area where they are working or where thier company or workplace is situated.

The same advisory for non-Iligan residents working in the city.

"Only officials, designated by the LGU can enter Iligan City for purposes of purchasing/pick-up/loading commodities for thier constituents subject to the guidelines," the new EO states.

Following the effectivity of the new guidelines, the purchasing, pick-up and loading of commodities to be done only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The official duly authorized to do the purchased, pick-up and loading must have proof of employment, travel permit and certification that he has no travel history. The travel permit shall be valid only until 5pm of the date issued.

The vehicle used in transporting commodities must have the certification that it is officially designated by the LGU. It must have maximum of two persons onboard inclusive of the driver and must indicate their point of destination.

Other guidelines:
-maximum of two LGU official vehicles are allowed per city or municipality
-passengers mus wear mask and bring hygiene kits such as 70% alcohol or hand sanitizer
-the driver and passenger must deposit their ID at the checkpoints and the checkpoint commander shall issue a checkpoint or home quarantine pass.

On March 16, a community quarantine was imposed in Iligan City following the death of a COVID patient at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City.

The patient, referred to as PH40 of the DOH, was from Lanao del Sur and was first admitted at AMC.

On March 18, new curfew hours was imposed: from 12 midnight to 4am for adults and 10pm to 5am for minors were all moved to 9pm to 5am.

On March 20, Iligan City was placed on enhanced community quarantine.
