Comval joins celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan and international youth day

Compostela Valley Province--The Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) led by Hon. Charlemagne B. Bautista of Compostela Valley hosted the launching of Linggo ng Kabataan in line with the celebration of the International Youth Day (IYD) on August 5, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol, Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Comval.
This is in partnership with the Provincial Government of Compostela Valley under Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) which aims to celebrate youth’s significant contributions to the sustainable development of the province.
Pursuant to section 30 of Republic Act No. 10742 the “SK Reform Act of 2015” mandates the observance of Linggo ng Kabataan in every barangay, municipality, city and province on the week where the 12th of August falls coincide with the IYD.
The launching was loaded with the different activities such as motorcade in the morning from Poblacion, Nabunturan to provincial capitol, conduct tree planting activities for Golden Trumpet Tree at the Tree Park in the capitol ground.
They spearheaded a Flag Raising and facilitated the convocation program of the capitol employee as well as participated on Quiz Bowl competition on good governance and the amazing raze challenge was also experienced by around two-hundred (200) SK officials from the eleven (11) municipalities of the entire province.
Gracing the occasions were Gov. Uy, Vice Governor Maricar S. Zamora, DILG Provincial Director Noel C. Duarte, SK Municipal Federation Presidents of the 11 municipalities, SK officials, Capitol employees, municipal and provincial officials.
According to Vice Gov. Zamora, today marked the start of the celebration in the province of Comval organized by the SK Federation of Comval headed by SK Federation President Bautista.
She also highlighted that respect, honor and understanding each person’s unique attributes are the keys to achieve unity and presented the differences among various generations including Baby boomers, Generation X, Millennials and the Generation Z.
For this year IYD, the theme is “Transforming Education” aim to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. #YEStoDavaoDeOro(Rey Antibo, ID Comval)
