Caraga PNP arrest 17 wanted persons in separate operations

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City - Police Regional Office 13’s intensified campaign on Manhunt Charlie led to the arrest of 13 wanted persons including four topmost wanted persons in various parts of Caraga region during separate operations yesterday, October 7.

In a report, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Director PBGEN JOSELITO T ESQUIVEL JR, said the arrests were made through the Warrant of Arrest in different police stations.

PNP personnel of Barobo Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested Aveclima A Balahay, 54, resident of Barangay Poblacion, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, top 8 most wanted person in Barobo for violation of Republic Act No. 9287 (Illegal Number Games) by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Lilibeth O Ladaga of RTC Branch 28, Lianga, SDS docketed under Criminal Case Number 19-3659 dated September 12, 2019 with recommended bail bond fixed at Php24,000.00.

Another operation conducted by Barobo MPS resulted in the arrest of Leonardo A Curada, 37, resident of Barangay Poblacion, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, top 7 most wanted person in Barobo MPS for violation of Republic Act No. 9287 (Illegal Number Games) by virtue of Warrant issued by Hon. Lilibeth O Ladaga of RTC Branch 28, Lianga, SDS docketed under Criminal Case Number 19-3660 dated September 12, 2019 with recommended bail bond fixed at Php24,000.00.

While, personnel of Butuan City Police Station (BCPS) 1, together with Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested Eric C Ginelga alias Ricky, 18, and resident of Barangay Baan Riverside, Butuan City for the crime of Robbery by virtue of Warrant of Arrest under Criminal Case No. 2019-543, issued by Judge Eduardo S Casals of RTC Branch 1 dated August 27, 2019 with recommended bail bond of Php24,000.00.

Ginelga is top 7 most wanted person in BCPS1.

Moreover, PNP personnel of Sibagat MPS arrested Jhonny Jay P Java, 24, and a resident of Barangay Kioya, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, top 8 most wanted person for Robbery with Force Upon Things by virtue of Warrant of Arrest under Criminal Case No. 6345 issued by Hon. Lou A Nueva, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 7, Bayugan City Agusan del Sur dated July 3, 2019, with recommended bail bond of Php100.000.00

Other wanted persons arrested in Agusan del Sur were: (a) Archil Ryan S Aznar, 27 and resident of Barangay Teresita, Bayugan City, wanted for Malversation of Public Fund of Property (Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code); (b) Dominador G Loterte, 44 and resident of Barangay San Teodoro, Bunawan, wanted for Reckless Imprudence resulting to Homicide; and (c) Reagan J Cutillas, 30 and resident of Barangay Tabon-Tabon, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, wanted for violation of Section 77 of Presidential Decree No. 705 as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1559 and Executive Order No. 277 (Illegal Logging).

Nabbed in Butuan City were: (a) Violan M Guiritan, 32 and resident of Balbarino, Barangay 23, Holy Redeemer, Butuan City for Violation of SP Ordinance No. 432-85/3616-2010; (b) Justin John Alejandro, 23 and resident of Barangay Mahay, Butuan City, wanted for violation of SP Ordinance No. 432-85 (three counts); and (c) a minor (true name withheld) and resident of Barangay Tandang Sora, Butuan City, wanted person for Theft.

In Surigao City, wanted persons arrested were: (a) Nestor T Guballa, 57 and resident of Barangay Washington, Surigao City, wanted for Grave Oral Defamation; and (b) Harly S Umbina, 23 and resident of Bernadette Village, Barangay Luna, Surigao City, wanted for violation of SP Ordinance No. 432-85/3616-2010.

In Agusan del Norte, Romel A Villamor, 32 and resident of Barangay Sangay, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, was arrested for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 (Illegal Gambling).

The region’s top cop, PBGEN Esquivel Jr, assured the community of the PNP’s continuing efforts to arrest the wanted persons and put them behind bars.

“I am optimistic that with the help of other law enforcement agency and active support of the community, we will win this war against criminality,” he added.
