THE Hungry Plate, the restaurant which gave us the now famous tagline Come hungry, leave happy, will now be celebrating their third year come July 16.

To prepare for this joyous occasion, The Hungry Plate will unleash its yummy Peruvian Junior chicken for only P3 for a minimum order of P300 out of its regular price of P165 only at its SM CDO Downtown Premier branch and only on that day.

The food authority in TexMex cuisine in this side of Mindanao, The Hungry Plate continues to innovate its menu and now introduces a fusion series of Mexican and Filipino dishes.

Since 2016 when it first opened its doors at Corrales, The Hungry Plate has indeed transformed TexMex dining in CDO not just in quality but in price as well.

The Hungry Plate boasts of the lowest priced food on the table in its gastronomical category – a blend of American Southern and Mexican cuisine distinctively catering to the Cagayanon palate.

Its array of dishes consists of the following: cheesy tots, quesadillas, sliders, nachos, shrimp taco, Cuban spring rolls and wild wings (starters); sancocho, seafood chowder and Latin seafood soup (soups); Caesar, tropical, chopped cobb and California (salads); Southern belly, country style pork steak, Miami chops, Peruvian chicken, mahi-mahi, tuna belly, salmon, gambas, ceviche, roast beef, Louisiana fried chicken, US certified Angus rib eye, Louisiana fried chicken and New York strip, braised beef, seafood boil (entrees); and mudpie and red velvet (dessert).

The Hungry Plate is proud to claim that it is the only resto in Cagayan de Oro that serves craft beer.

Chef-owner Kahlil Cabardo draws his inspiration from being the foodie in a family of foodies who hailed from Davao City. The Cabardo family first ventured in a pizza joint here in the City of Golden Friendship way back. That childhood experience in entrepreneurship and gourmet inspired Kahlil to hone his culinary passions, sending himself to a one-year training in Miami right in the heartland of TexMex cuisine.

After coming back, Kahlil established The Hunger Plate. And everything became a culinary delight to us Cagayanons.
